Hands Across Time

Ginger Sisco Cook and I have begun a long-term project dedicated to telling the story of the construction of Bois d’Arc Lake and its impact on Fannin County, Texas. The construction of the lake and the economic and social changes that are certain to follow in its wake are the most significant changes to occur in this part of the world in living memory. The story is told through the lens of two historic cemeteries that must be relocated to make way for the construction of the dam. They are a fitting metaphor for the loss and the hope the community strives to reconcile as we enter this visceral transition.
