Gifts of Light & color

Minor White once said, “What shall I be given today?”. When I took up my first camera, I quickly found myself drunk on light and color, and the quest for those exquisite moments continues to be a driving force in my work. Minor’s words express so well the gratitude I feel for these occasions and the humbling opportunity to turn them into statements of lasting value. When I am at my best, the work is centering, contemplative, and I am fully in the present.  With camera in hand, I try to slow myself down and resist the urge to shoot on impulse. I try to turn the act of seeing into a form of mediation. I strive to find the extraordinary in the ordinary.
